↺ Flip the board — these mount on the BACK, and the picture is drawn from the back.

How. Fit the power header first, before anything else stands proud of the board. It mounts on the back, and once the front is populated the board will not sit flat to solder it. Check the -12 V stripe against the silkscreen: a reversed header is the one mistake that damages the module.

How. Seat every pot, jack and switch in its holes — but solder nothing yet. Push each one fully down against the board and leave it loose. Fit these last. Mount panel jacks through the panel and tighten before soldering so everything lines up; seat headers square to the board.

Fit the panel and tighten the nuts

How. Drop the front panel over the seated hardware and start every nut by hand: the jack nuts, the pot nuts, and any washers that go under them. Tighten them down snug. This pulls each part square to the panel rather than to the board, which is what makes the finished module line up.

How. Now solder the panel hardware, with the panel still bolted on. Work around the board rather than finishing one part at a time, so nothing is pulled out of alignment by heat. Then check every nut is still tight.
